Massive Cannabis Haul Found in Clifton Drug Bust
Police swooped on a Gardendale Avenue property in Clifton at 10am on Tuesday (14 March) after a tip-off about suspected criminal activity.
91 Cannabis Plants Seized
The City Centre Operation Reacher team, temporarily working in Clifton, uncovered 91 cannabis plants packed in a single room.
Officers confiscated the drugs and dismantled all electrical equipment used to power the illegal grow-op, rendering it unusable.
Three Arrested and Remanded
Hieu-Van Duong, 36, and Luc Van Nguyen, 35, both of no fixed address, along with 43-year-old Van Duc Ungiyen from Gardendale Avenue, appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (16 March).
All face charges of producing a Class B drug and have been remanded in custody.
Police Urge Public to Keep Speaking Up
“We always take reports of cannabis production seriously as it can often be linked to wider organised crime,” said Police Constable Dave Myers of Nottinghamshire Police.
“It also endangers neighbouring families due to dangerous electrical wiring and bypasses we find at these grow-ops.”
“We rely on local people to build trust and intelligence. I urge the public to keep reporting any suspicious activity — the more info we get, the stronger our intelligence, and we always act on viable tips.”
Since October 2020, Nottinghamshire Police has deployed 12 Operation Reacher teams to swiftly tackle community concerns, disrupt organised crime, and foster better ties with residents.
