Two Charged with Murder of 83-Year-Old in Aldham

Two suspects are set to appear in court tomorrow, Monday 4 January, accused of murdering an 83-year-old man in Aldham.

Leighton Snook and Teen Face Murder Charge

Leighton Snook, 28, homeless, and a 16-year-old boy from Leicester—who cannot be named for legal reasons—will both stand before Colchester Magistrates’ Court charged with murder.

The charges relate to the death of Donald Ralph, found strangled at his home on 1 Road, Aldham, on Tuesday 29 December.

Serious Additional Charges for Snook and Teen

Snook faces extra charges of possession of an offensive weapon and theft of a motor vehicle. The teenager also faces a vehicle theft charge.

Others Released but Under Investigation

Meanwhile, two men aged 30 and 39, and a 21-year-old woman—initially arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender—have been released under police investigation as inquiries continue.
