Two Women Rescued After Being Cut Off by Rising Tide

Coastguard and Lifeboat Rush to the Rescue

Two women found themselves trapped by the incoming tide near 1 Park on Wednesday lunchtime, April 18. A quick-thinking local homeowner spotted the danger and alerted the coastguard at 12:10pm.

Self-Rescue Effort and Safe Escape

The Bembridge Coastguard Search and Rescue team, backed up by the Ryde Inshore Rescue lifeboat, sprang into action.

But before they arrived, the women managed to get themselves to safety. Thankfully, both escaped without injury.

Rescue Teams Stand Down

With the pair safe, the coastguard and lifeboat crews stood down. A Maritime Coastguard spokeswoman praised the homeowner’s vigilance that helped prevent what could have been a serious incident.
