Two Thieves Jailed for Preying on Pensioners on London Buses
Two men have been locked up for stealing from vulnerable pensioners on London buses. Kristian Dolinski, 43, has been handed three years and nine months in prison. His accomplice, David Glowacki, 33, received a 15-month suspended sentence.
Cold-Hearted Crimes Targeting the Elderly
The pair carried out their thefts between May and September 2019 across north and west London buses. Almost all their victims were elderly passengers, mostly in their 70s and 80s, including a 93-year-old woman. Dolinski used a sharp blade to cut bags and pockets, stealing purses, wallets, and mobiles while sitting or standing right next to his victims.
Some stolen items held priceless sentimental value, such as a Catholic Rosary blessed by the Pope and photos of deceased relatives stored on stolen phones.
Cunning Criminals Funded Drug Addiction
Dolinski admitted to 21 thefts, while Glowacki pleaded guilty to assisting in three. The judge labelled the pair “cunning,” noting they picked elderly targets who were less likely to spot the theft or fight back. Their crimes were driven by a desperate attempt to fund Class A drug addictions.
Met Police Praise Teamwork and Modern Policing Methods
“Dolinski and Glowacki were caught and brought to justice after a prolonged and extensive police investigation,”
said PC Noël Thompson of the Roads and Transport Policing Command’s Proactive Team.
“We combined intelligence work from across the Met with modern electronic techniques and good old-fashioned community policing. The tough sentence handed to Dolinski reflects the hard work with the CPS after their arrests. We’re very happy with the court’s decision.”
