Woman Charged with Murder After Man Found Dead in Suffolk Park
Shock in Sparrow’s Nest Gardens
A 54-year-old man was found dead in Sparrow’s Nest Gardens, Lowestoft, on Friday night. Police arrived at 10.13pm to find the man unresponsive. Despite desperate efforts by emergency crews, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim is believed to be Gary Grant, 54, a local from Lowestoft. His family is receiving support from specialist officers as the investigation continues.
Amber Stebbings Arrested at Scene
Amber Stebbings, 28, homeless and with no fixed address, was arrested on suspicion of murder at the scene. She was taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre for questioning and has now been formally charged with murder.
Stebbings remains in custody ahead of her court appearance at Great Yarmouth Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 23 March.
Police Seek Witnesses to Tragic Killing
The police believe the killing was an isolated incident between people who knew each other. The crime scene in the park has since been cleared.
Suffolk Police are appealing to anyone with information, especially local drivers or those with dash cam footage, to come forward.
