Woman Attacked and Threatened in Great Lines Heritage Park

A woman was threatened and physically assaulted in Great Lines Heritage Park on Tuesday, 20 August 2024, around 4pm. She was walking from Chatham towards Medway Maritime Hospital when the terrifying encounter began.

Suspect Confronted Victim on Park Bench

The victim stopped to sit on a bench when a man sat next to her and started talking. He reportedly made verbal threats before pushing her to the ground during an attempted sexual assault. Two witnesses arrived, prompting the suspect to flee towards Chatham High Street.

Police Release E-Fit of Suspect

Detectives investigating the attack have issued an e-fit of the suspect. He is described as a white male, about 21 years old, with black hair and a slim to medium build. At the time, he wore a grey or blue tank top and matching shorts falling below the knee. He also sported a silver chain necklace and carried a black bag across his shoulder.
