Girl, 9, Bitten by Mystery Dog in Middlesbrough

A nine-year-old girl was attacked by a dog on Burwell Road, Middlesbrough, sparking a police hunt for the animal and its owner.

Dog Bites Girl Multiple Times

The shocking incident happened around midday on Wednesday, 27 December. A tanned or light brown dog approached the girl and bit her several times on the legs. She suffered injuries serious enough to need hospital treatment but thankfully they were not life-threatening. She was treated at James Cook University Hospital and later released.

Dog Owner Still at Large

Police have not yet confirmed the dog’s breed. There was no owner in sight, and the dog was not wearing a collar or lead. Officers are now conducting house-to-house inquiries and scouring CCTV footage in the area as they try to track down the dog and its owner.

Witnesses Urgently Needed
