Boy, 9, Hospitalised After Shocking Daytime Attack in Peterborough
A nine-year-old boy was rushed to hospital after a brutal assault in Peterborough this afternoon.
Emergency services were called at 3.24pm following reports of a child attacked on Peveril Road, suffering multiple wounds to his face and head.
From Peterborough to Cambridge: Victim in Stable Condition
The young victim was first taken to Peterborough City Hospital. He has now been transferred to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, where police say his condition is stable.
Police Hunt ‘Scruffy’ Asian Man Who Fled Scene
Sergeant Jason Hancock revealed the boy was walking with his older brother when a man approached and struck him. The attacker reportedly fled towards Lincoln Road.
“The offender is described as an Asian man, tall, skinny, scruffy in appearance, with black, short-to-medium length messy hair,” said Sgt Hancock. “He wore black jogging bottoms and a big coat.”
Officers are urgently investigating but say the attack appears random and isolated. No other similar incidents have been reported.
