The drama unfolded between 8.45pm and 9pm on Monday, 6 October 2025. GMP officers acted fast, arresting five men aged 20, 22, 24, 28, and 39 on suspicion of firearm possession. All remain in custody as police launch a full investigation.

“We know how concerning incidents like this can be for those who live and work in the area,” said Detective Chief Inspector Martyn Johnson from 1 District. “Since the incident was reported, we have made significant headway, apprehending five men in relation to the discharge. While it’s fortunate that no one was injured, the use of firearms on our streets is completely unacceptable.”
