Man Nabbed in Staines with Fake Gun and Suspected Class A Drugs

Suspicious Behaviour Leads to Arrest

A 33-year-old man from Staines-upon-Thames was arrested early this morning after police spotted him acting suspiciously near Tesco Superstore on Greenway Terrace, Stanwell.

Officers stopped him around 3am on 16 April and quickly noticed he smelled strongly of cannabis. A search revealed an imitation handgun tucked into his waistband and seven wraps of white powder believed to be cocaine.

Drugs and Fake Firearm Seized

The man was immediately arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs and possession of an imitation firearm. The suspected drugs and fake weapon have now been seized, preventing them from hitting the streets.

Police Commander Praises Officers’ Quick Action

“This was an excellent stop by officers resulting in the recovery of a substantial quantity of suspected class A drugs and an imitation firearm which have now been taken off our streets,” said Maxine Cilia, Spelthorne Borough Commander.

“Despite the ongoing crisis, we are still out there and will continue to do all we can to protect our communities from harm.”

The man remains in custody as investigations continue.
