Man Found Beaten Near Hartlepool Library – Police Seek Witnesses

Detectives in Hartlepool are hunting for witnesses after a 32-year-old man was found badly beaten near the library on York Road in the early hours of Saturday, May 4, 2024.

Serious Assault Leaves Man With Multiple Injuries

At around 12.40am, police were alerted by ambulance crews who discovered the injured man, suffering from several facial and head wounds. Authorities believe he was the victim of a violent assault.

The victim was rushed to James Cook University Hospital where he remains under close medical supervision.

Police Appeal for Footage and Witnesses

“We are appealing to anyone who was in the York Road area late last night or early this morning to come forward,” said Detective Inspector Sarah Thompson. “Your information could be crucial in helping us piece together what happened.”

Officers are especially keen to review doorbell camera clips, dash cam videos, or CCTV from nearby homes and businesses. Anyone with information is urged to contact Cleveland Police on 101, quoting reference number 081637.
