Lorry Driver Killed in Horror Crash on A27 Near Chichester
Tragedy struck on the A27 near Chichester on Monday afternoon when a lorry crashed into the central reservation, killing the driver instantly. Emergency services were scrambled to the scene at around 4.15pm following the one-vehicle collision.
No Other Vehicles Involved in Deadly Smash
The lorry, travelling eastbound, smashed into the central barrier before ending up on the opposite carriageway. Remarkably, no other vehicles were involved in the crash.
Police Launch Witness Appeal
The driver, a 60-year-old man from the local area, was pronounced dead at the scene. Inspector Stewart Goodwin urged anyone who was travelling on the A27 near Chichester around that time to come forward.
“We are appealing to anyone who was travelling on the A27 near Chichester at around that time and saw what happened,” said Inspector Goodwin.
