Tragic Christmas Eve Crash on A4251: Young Woman Dies
A deadly crash on the A4251 at 10.30pm on Friday, December 24, has shaken the local community. A white 1979 Volkswagen Polo smashed into a central island and lamppost, leaving a young woman dead.
Woman in 20s Dies, Driver Arrested
The front-seat passenger, a woman in her twenties, sadly lost her life. Her family is being supported by specially trained officers during this heartbreaking time.
The driver, a 26-year-old man from Hemel Hempstead, was arrested at the scene. He faces charges of driving under the influence of cannabis and causing death by dangerous driving. He remains in police custody.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
“Our thoughts are with the victim’s family, who have lost their loved one so close to Christmas,” said Sergeant Simon Cooper from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit.
“The vehicle is a very distinctive 1979 model Volkswagen Polo, so we hope witnesses come forward. Did you see the crash or anything leading up to it? If you have dash cam footage, please check and contact us.
