Police hunt man over alleged Merton rape of teenage girl

Police have issued a photo of a man wanted in connection with an alleged rape in Merton. Officers are desperate to trace him.

Incident Details

The outrage unfolded just after 7am on Tuesday, 3 November, in the North Place area. A teenage girl is now receiving specialist support as a crime scene remains sealed off.

No Arrests Yet, Police Patrols Up

Detectives have made no arrests so far, but enquiries are ongoing. Local officers have ramped up patrols to reassure the community.

“The victim and her family are receiving support from specially trained officers,” said Detective Inspector Laura Semple of the South West Command Unit. “We urgently need anyone who recognises this man to contact us immediately.”

Police warn against sharing details on social media that could identify the victim or jeopardise the investigation.
