Suspect Nabbed After Chilling Child Approach Spree in Aylesford
Police have arrested a 20-year-old man following a string of alarming incidents where a man in a black car allegedly tried to lure children in Aylesford. The spate of creepy encounters has left locals on edge.
Three Separate Incidents Spark Alarm
- On 19 September 2020, a man driving a black car in Greenacres reportedly invited a young boy into his vehicle.
- Two days later, another boy playing outside on the same estate was beckoned by a man in a black car.
- The very next day, a girl was approached by a man in a black hatchback on Teapot Lane, who asked her to get into his car.
Arrest Made in Maidstone
On Thursday 24 September, Kent Police arrested a 20-year-old Maidstone man on suspicion of causing harassment, alarm, and distress. He remains in custody as investigations continue.
Detective Sergeant Lisa Featherstone of the Maidstone Child Protection Unit said: “Although the children returned safely home, these were very distressing incidents. We urge anyone with information to come forward.”
