Armed crooks hit a quiet Stubbington street late on Thursday, June 6, making off with thousands in expensive tree-cutting gear.

Around 11.30pm, residents at Tangyes Close heard suspicious noises outside. When they tried to check the front door, a masked thug wielding a crowbar forced it shut, trapping them inside.

While one offender blocked the door, accomplices raided the garage, grabbing professional STIHL equipment worth about £4,500. The haul included:

  • Two STIHL long reach hedge trimmers
  • One STIHL short reach hedge trimmer
  • One STIHL backpack blower
  • One STIHL brush trimmer

The gang fled towards Meoncross School. Police believe the thieves planned their raid to target high-value tools.

Victim Suffering Panic Attack – Police Urge Public to Help

A female resident in her 60s suffered a panic attack and needed ambulance treatment after the ordeal.

“This was a traumatic ordeal for the victims and I am appealing for anyone with information to come forward to help us find those responsible,” said Detective Constable Jamie Fagan.

Police want anyone who saw suspicious activity near Burnt Lane on June 6 to speak up. They warn the public to stay alert and only buy tools from trusted sources.
