Tragedy on A167: Young Woman Killed as Mercedes Crashes into Tree Near Darlington
A Mercedes C-Class careered off the A167 near Coatham Mundeville, just outside Darlington, around 3.15am on June 17. The car smashed into a tree, killing 25-year-old driver Natalie Marshall at the scene.
Heartbroken Family Pays Tribute
Natalie’s family described her as “the biggest and strongest personality we’ve ever known.” They said:
“Natalie was a very well-loved daughter, sister, auntie, and friend. We can’t express how devastated we are by this tragic loss. She was hardworking, selfless, and would light up any room she entered. This tragedy has truly broken our hearts. She held a special place in many people’s lives.”
Passenger Seriously Injured
The Mercedes’ passenger, a man in his twenties, was rushed to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough with serious injuries. He remains in hospital receiving treatment.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Durham Constabulary is investigating the crash. Officers want anyone who saw what happened or has dashcam footage of the car before the collision to come forward.
Witnesses can call 101 quoting incident number 57 from June 17.
