Line of Duty Set for Festive Three-Part Comeback
The hit BBC drama Line of Duty is making a triumphant return with a special three-part series next year. Stars Adrian Dunbar, Vicky McClure, and Martin Compston are on board, promising fans there’s still more to come.
Unfinished Business Fuels Return
An insider spilled the beans: “There’s a strong feeling that there was unfinished business.” The announcement follows fan disappointment after the previous series shocker, which named Ian Buckells as the mysterious ‘H’—a reveal many felt fell flat.
“Viewers were dissatisfied with the series six finale and were clamouring for a more sensational conclusion — now Jed [Mercurio] can deliver that,” said the source. “The fact they’re planning just three episodes instead of the usual six or seven shows how special this is.”
Stars Tease New Episodes on TV
Just a day before the official news, Vicky McClure hinted at new episodes on Good Morning Britain. “I speak to the lads all the time and we’re all game,” she said. “Martin’s busy, but I’m sure we’ll make it happen.”
Adrian Dunbar also appeared on Good Morning Britain to confirm the likelihood of new episodes. “There’s every possibility,” he said. “It’s entirely up to Jed, so we’re crossing our fingers. We might hear something in the next few weeks or months.”
Story May Not Be Over Yet
When asked if the story is truly finished, Adrian gave a cryptic response: “The story can go on. I thought the ending was really interesting because that’s how reality often works – it’s usually one person ignoring a piece of info, not some mastermind ‘Mr Big.’”
He added, “We’ve been together for ten years and talk every other day. Adrian, Vicky, and Jed are genuine friends – it’s more than just work.”
Line of Duty fans can finally breathe easy — the drama isn’t done with us yet.
