Coastguards Rush to Aid after Leg-Break Fall Near Ventnor

Rescue Teams Mobilised to Niton Undercliffe

Coastguard search and rescue teams from Bembridge and Ventnor were scrambled this afternoon (Sunday, August 5th) to assist the Island’s ambulance service. The call came just after 2:30pm, sending crews to Niton Undercliffe on the outskirts of Ventnor.

Serious Fall at Windy Corner

Reports say a person has suffered a broken leg after a fall near Windy Corner, close to St Catherine’s Lighthouse. Coastguard teams are on scene, providing urgent assistance.

Air Rescue on Standby

The UK Coastguard’s Rescue 175 helicopter from Lee-on-the-Solent was dispatched by the ARC operations centre, ready to airlift the casualty. Meanwhile, the Hampshire and Isle of Wight air ambulance is tied up handling a separate emergency near Newport.
