Blaze Erupts at Bristol’s Troubled Horfield Prison

Paramedics and firefighters swooped on Avon’s Horfield prison after a cell fire broke out early Wednesday.

Emergency Rush at 8am

Just after 8am on March 22, emergency crews arrived at the Category B men’s prison on Cambridge Road, Bristol. The fire reportedly started in a cell on one of the wings.

Inmate Sets Cell Ablaze

A prison insider revealed the blaze was sparked by a prisoner who deliberately set the cell on fire, causing significant damage.

The Ministry of Justice and Avon Fire and Rescue have been contacted for comment.
