Blaze Hits Two Shops in Single Building
A fierce fire damaged parts of two single-storey shops sharing the same building. Around 10 people made a swift exit before the fire brigade arrived. Thankfully, no one was hurt.
Accidental Blaze Fueled by Discarded Cigarette
London Fire Brigade investigators say the blaze was likely sparked by a carelessly discarded cigarette. The fire started in waste materials stored at the front of the premises, including flammable cardboard packaging.
“Firefighters faced a well-developed fire that spread quickly into both shops,” a Brigade spokesperson explained. “It’s vital smokers fully extinguish cigarettes and wet stubs before disposal to prevent fires.”
Firefighters Race to the Scene
The Brigade was called at 10:24am and had the fire under control by 11:18am. Four fire engines and about 25 firefighters from Southall, Ealing, and Hillingdon stations tackled the blaze.
