Massive Fire Erupts at Hanwell Vehicle Workshop, 50 Evacuated
An early morning blaze tore through a vehicle workshop on Boston Road, Hanwell, forcing around 50 residents from nearby homes to evacuate. The London Fire Brigade (LFB) sprang into action after receiving over 15 emergency calls at 5:04 a.m. on 10 November.
Massive Emergency Response
Firefighters from Ealing, Southall, Acton, and surrounding areas were quick on the scene. A total of eight fire engines and roughly 60 firefighters battled the inferno, which swallowed a workshop containing three vehicles.
One person was dramatically rescued using a ladder, but thankfully, no injuries were reported. Crews also had to cool several gas cylinders nearby to avoid a dangerous explosion.
Transport Chaos as Roads Shut
Local transport took a hit as five London bus routes — 195, 207, 483, E8, and SL8 — were diverted due to road closures near Boston Road and the A4020 junction. The fire was finally brought under control at 7:09 a.m.
A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said, “Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters responded to a fire on Boston Road, Hanwell. Around 50 people from adjacent properties were evacuated by the Brigade and Metropolitan Police Service as a precaution.”
Investigation Underway, Traffic Disruption Expected
Traffic delays are expected until the scene is cleared. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
