Isle of Wight Distillery Unveils HMS Victory Navy Strength Gin
The Isle of Wight Distillery has teamed up with The National Museum of the Royal Navy to launch a cracking new Navy Strength Gin – celebrating the legendary HMS Victory, the Royal Navy’s most famous warship.
Iconic Gin with a Naval Twist
Known for their artisan Wight Mermaids Gin, the Island-based distillery is stepping up with this bold new tipple. Alongside a standard Navy Strength Gin, they’re rolling out a limited edition aged variety – matured in oak barrels designed to mimic the taste of gin enjoyed by naval officers at the Battle of Trafalgar.
Barrels Made from HMS Victory Oak
Here’s the kicker: the distillery has commissioned four custom barrels crafted by England’s only Master Cooper, Alastair Simms. Each barrel will be infused with oak reclaimed from HMS Victory herself. Alastair is working hand-in-hand with the museum’s conservation team in Portsmouth to bring history to life – one barrel at a time.
Supporting Restoration with Every Bottle
A portion of every sale will go towards the ongoing restoration of HMS Victory, keeping the Navy’s proud legacy afloat. The barrels will be filled with genuine Navy Strength gin, giving fans a true taste of naval history.
