Kent Fire and Rescue crews launched a dramatic evening rescue on the River Medway last Friday. Two people found themselves stranded on a boat trapped in the mudflats near Sun Pier, Chatham.

Responding quickly, two fire engines rolled out. Firefighters battled the sticky mud using specialist mud paths to reach the trapped pair. They successfully hauled them to safety without injury.
