Lemonade Lorry Overturns on M1, Chaos on the Roads
A lorry loaded with lemonade has crashed and overturned on the M1, causing major delays and lane closures this morning.
Crash Shuts Key Slip Road and Lane
The smash happened between junctions 35 and 34 southbound. South Yorkshire Fire Rescue confirmed crews are on site dealing with the overturned tanker.
“The motorway is likely to be closed for at least half an hour,” warned the fire service.
National Highways reported the heavy goods vehicle veered off the carriageway at junction 35. One of four southbound lanes is closed, and the slip road entry is fully shut.
Recovery and Clean-Up Underway
The lorry’s trailer ended up off the carriageway while the vehicle itself overturned on the slip road. Officials say the slip road will remain closed until the recovery and clean-up are complete.
Drivers Urged to Plan Ahead
Anyone heading southbound on the M1 this morning should expect delays. Police and fire crews are urging motorists to stay patient while the scene is cleared.
