Shock hit-and-run leaves pensioner fighting for life in Hailsham

Elderly cyclist hit on busy Hailsham Road

Police are hunting the driver behind a hit-and-run on Wednesday 19 July that seriously injured a 74-year-old cyclist. The man was struck at about 4.05pm while riding his bike along Hailsham Road in Magham Down.

Man suffers multiple fractures, rushed to hospital

The victim suffered severe injuries including broken neck, ankle, and ribs. Emergency services took him to hospital for urgent treatment. His condition remains serious.

Witnesses urged to come forward
