Man Airlifted from Oil Tanker in Daring English Channel Rescue

A man was dramatically airlifted by the Coastguard’s Rescue 175 helicopter after an emergency aboard an oil tanker in the perilous waters of the English Channel.

The rescue unfolded around 8.30pm on Wednesday, roughly 20 nautical miles south of the Isle of Wight. Despite dangerous sea conditions, the engineer was winched up from the tanker with skill and precision.

Kidney Stones Trigger Emergency Extraction

The man, reportedly suffering from severe kidney stones, was urgently flown back to Lee-on-the-Solent. From there, he was transferred to southampton/" title="Southampton" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Southampton General Hospital for treatment.

The Hillhead Coastguard Search and Rescue Team, stationed at Lee-on-the-Solent, were scrambled to provide vital support during the medical transfer, ensuring the mission’s success.
