Massive Fire Rips Through Walsall Fireworks Warehouse

Firefighters are battling a massive blaze at a commercial unit in Walsall packed with fireworks. The alarm went off just after 8.27pm on Thursday, December 4, sending crews rushing to Pleck Road.

Blaze Sparks Rapid Fire Service Response

West Midlands Fire Service didn’t waste a second. They rolled out 11 fire engines, two brigade response vehicles, and a hydraulic aerial ladder within three minutes of the alert. The warehouse is huge — about 100 by 30 metres — stoking a fierce inferno.

“We’re using at least five main jets alongside the aerial ladder to tackle the inferno,” a fire service spokesperson said.

The unit stores fireworks, stock, and wooden pallets, making the fire extremely volatile and hazardous.

Police, Drone & Agencies Rally to Control Chaos

West Midlands Police are managing traffic to keep the area clear for emergency crews. A fire service drone is giving vital aerial views to help battle the blaze. Meanwhile, the Environment Agency, National Grid, and local authorities have been called in.

Thankfully, no casualties have been reported so far. Firefighters are stubbornly plugged in, working to contain the savage blaze. Authorities warn the public to steer clear of Pleck Road for safety and to give emergency teams room to operate.
