Dramatic Rescue After Head-On Van Smash on A22
West Sussex firefighters sprang into action this morning after a brutal head-on crash between two vans in Ashurst Wood.
The Turners Hill unit teamed up with crews from East Grinstead and Crawley Fire Stations to free a trapped driver following the collision on the busy A22 Lewes Road.

The smash was reported just before 7am, around 6:45 AM, causing chaos on the key route.
Road Cleared by Mid-Morning
Sussextw confirmed the A22 was safely reopened by 10:30 AM, ending hours of traffic snarls.
