Tragic Head-On Crash on A3098 Claims Life of Frome Man
Police are hunting witnesses after a deadly smash between Chapmanslade and Westbury yesterday afternoon (April 11).
Fatal BMW vs Ford Collision
The horror unfolded around 4.30pm on the A3098 near Chalcot Park Farm when a BMW and a Ford Mondeo collided head-on.
The Ford’s driver, a man in his 60s from Frome, died at the scene. Police have alerted his next of kin. Our thoughts go out to his family and friends.
Serious Injuries in BMW
- The BMW’s front passenger, a man in his 20s, was airlifted to hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries.
- The BMW driver, also in his 20s, suffered serious but non-life-threatening wounds and was flown to hospital.
- Two rear-seat passengers in their 20s escaped with minor injuries.
Road Reopened After Hours of Investigation
The A3098 was closed for hours as emergency crews worked the scene. It has now reopened.
