Rescue teams sprang into action after receiving a distress call on a Private Mobile MR radio in Kingston. The first informant was quickly interviewed by officers, prompting a full-scale multi-agency search.
Massive Multi-Agency Hunt Underway

- Two lifeboats from Gosport and Fareham Inshore Rescue Service launched

The search scoured Portsmouth Harbour and nearby shorelines well into the early hours.
No Sign of Trouble Found… Yet
Despite an extensive sweep, rescue teams found no sign of distress. The search was stood down around 1.15am on Saturday but remains open pending fresh leads.
