Driver Trapped After Serious Crash on Isle of Wight
Firefighters are using specialist cutting gear to rescue the driver and passengers from a smashed-up car on East Cowes’ Whippingham Road. The vehicle is pinned around a tree, trapping those inside.

The smash happened just before 8pm on Thursday evening, on a notorious fast bend between Racecourse Roundabout and Folly Lane—a known accident hotspot. Fire crews, paramedics, and ambulance teams are all at the scene working to free the victims.
Delays Hit Local Bus Services
Paramedics arrived at 7.49pm, and Southern Vectis warned: “Owing to a two-vehicle accident along Whippingham Road, delays to routes 4 and 5 may occur.” More updates expected soon.
