Tragedy on M5: Three Dead, Child Seriously Injured in Horror Crash
Deadly Single-Car Crash
Three people, including a teenager, have died after a single-vehicle smash on the M5 motorway. A child inside the car is now in hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The crash happened around 9pm on Friday, 30 May, on the northbound carriageway between junction 14 (Falfield) and Michaelwood Services. A white BMW veered off the road, killing three of the passengers inside.
Ongoing Investigations and Road Closures
Emergency teams worked through the night and into Saturday morning recovering the vehicle and gathering forensic evidence. Authorities are also set to inspect the carriageway for structural damage before reopening the motorway.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Inspector Mark Vicary of Avon and Somerset police said, “We will provide support to the families through this devastating time. Our thoughts are with them in the most tragic of circumstances.”
He urged the public to avoid the area while investigations continue and asked anyone who witnessed the crash to come forward and contact the police.
