Tragic Blaze Kills Boy and Woman in Edenderry

A devastating house fire tore through Castleview Park, Edenderry, Co Offaly, on Saturday night, killing a young boy and a woman in her 60s. Emergency crews rushed to the scene at around 7.45pm but could not save the two victims.

Woman Seriously Injured Amid Ongoing Probe

A second woman, in her 50s, suffered serious injuries and was rushed to a Midlands hospital. Gardaí have confirmed the deaths and revealed forensic teams are combing the scene to nail down the cause of the blaze.

Garda spokesperson: “An Garda Síochána can confirm two fatalities as a result of this house fire. A female, aged 60 years, and a young boy were fatally injured. A second female, aged in her 50s, is receiving treatment for serious injuries at a hospital in the Midlands.”

Police Urge Witnesses to Speak Out

The fire has devastated the local community. Firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control, but the investigation continues. Tullamore police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward as post-mortem examinations get underway.
