Police Dogs’ Close Call as Thugs Smash Squad Car Window in Whitworth
Two police dogs had a narrow escape after mindless yobs hurled bricks at their marked police vehicle in Lancashire.
House Party Turns Ugly for Police Dogs
Officers were called to a Whitworth home following complaints about a noisy house party. A dog unit was among the responders, but as the dogs weren’t needed inside, their handler left them safe and sound in the air-conditioned vehicle.
Bricks Through the Window
When the handler returned, he found the back window smashed by a brick – glass shards showered the dogs inside. Miraculously, both pups escaped injury, but the squad car was taken out of action.
“Tonight whilst dealing with a report of a house party in Whitworth, one of our vehicles carrying two police dogs inside was bricked, showering the dogs with glass! Thankfully both dogs are uninjured however it took a response vehicle off the road,” confirmed Lancashire Police Dog Unit on Twitter.
Social Media Outrage
The incident sparked fury online. One Twitter user blasted: “Bloody animals… unbelievable. You are trying to do your job while folks are meant to be isolating, yet they think this behaviour is acceptable. Those poor dogs must’ve been terrified. Keep up the good work!”
Another added: “Here’s hoping these idiots are caught soon and don’t get away with it…!”
