Bob Marley’s Son Carries the Reggae Torch

Rohan Marley grew up steeped in music from day one. Born in Jamaica, he started school at Saints Peter and Paul Preparatory before moving to Florida. There, he attended Palmetto High School and Miami Dade College. But it was his early passion for music that truly set him apart.

Early Beats and First Breakthroughs

Marley began writing songs while still in primary school. In 2010, he dropped his first official track, My Girl, teaming up with Daniel Bambaata. Four years later, he launched his debut solo EP Comfortable, putting his own stamp on the reggae scene.

Following in Dad’s Legendary Footsteps

In 2016, Marley linked up with his legendary father, Stephen Marley, on the track Revelation Party, featured on Stephen’s album Revelation Part 2: The Fruit of Life. The collaboration marked a milestone in his growing career.

New Era, New Vibes

Fast forward to 2021, and Rohan dropped Eternal. The album boasts big-name reggae and dancehall stars like Busy Signal, Black-Am-I, and Kabaka Pyramid. It proves Marley is more than just a famous last name—he’s making waves in his own right.

“It was a very magical thing, seeing those people come around to the house and how the whole process would happen,”

Marley told Rolling Stone. “I would come home and try to do homework, but I’d end up getting distracted and go peek in the studio. You would always want to run in and run out to see what was going on.”

From Jamaica to Miami, and from schoolboy songwriter to reggae star, Rohan Marley is carving out his own musical legacy.
