Violence Erupts After Fireworks Spark Mayhem in Bolton
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) are hunting witnesses after a night of violent chaos in Bolton. What started as fireworks set off around 1am on Halliwell Road quickly exploded into full-blown disorder.
Fights Break Out, Two Seriously Injured
Officers were swamped with calls reporting multiple fights nearby. Two people suffered serious injuries and were rushed to hospital. Their conditions remain unknown.
Four Arrested as Police Seal Off Crime Scenes
GMP acted fast, arresting four men aged between 25 and 35. They are in custody being questioned over the violent outbreaks.
Police have cordoned off four key areas for investigation: Maria Street/Gladstone Street, Madeley Gardens, Bride Street, and Weymouth Street. Crime Scene Investigators are combing these locations for crucial evidence, with closures expected to last throughout today.
Detective Plea for Witnesses
“What appeared to start as anti-social behaviour with fireworks quickly descended into large-scale violent disorder, which is completely unacceptable on the streets of Bolton,” said Detective Inspector Stuart Woodhead.
