Drone Strike Sparks Massive Fire in Russian Border Town
In the early hours today, the Russian town of Azov in the southern Rostov region was rocked by a major emergency. Dozens of firefighters rushed in to tackle a blazing fire after a drone strike hit several oil storage tanks near the Ukraine border.
Fire Rages Over 5,000 Cubic Meters of Storage Tanks
The attack sparked a huge inferno, engulfing around 5,000 cubic meters of oil tanks. Russia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations took to Telegram to report the scale of the blaze and ongoing firefighting efforts.
Governor Vasily Golubev told Telegram that there were no confirmed casualties so far, though the reports still need to be verified.
Another Suspected Strike Hits Rostov’s Power Grid
This incident follows a suspected Ukrainian attack just last night that caused a massive explosion at an electricity substation in the same region. If confirmed, this would mark two days in a row of aggressive strikes on the Rostov border area with Ukraine.
