Fire rips through Fleet services 

A fire that is believed to have started in a coffee machine in the KFC at Fleet services has ripped through the building.Totally destroying the Southbound service area. The blaze broke out at around 10.40pm on Wednesday evening. Despite efforts of fifty fire fighter 10 pumping appliances and seven water carriers the blaze just carried on. At one Point a Gas main fire out form the roof area. People are advised to avoid the area as one lane closed on M3 Southbound between J4A A327 (Farnborough) and J5 A287 / B3349 (Hook). Police had originally intended to fully close the M3 in both directions due to smoke blowing across the carriageway but this closure has now been cancelled but is still being monitored .Crews from a far field as Romsey And Fareham sum 60 miles have now been at the scene for over six hours and the fire isn’t showing any signs of going out. Efforts to tackle the blaze are hampered due to the lack of water.
