Wight Care Scam Alert hits the Isle of Wight

Isle of Wight Council trading standards team have issued a scam warning to residents to be aware that Wightcare have had reports from service users that a company called 247 assist are contacting them to transfer their care line system over to them. In one instance, they knew the first four digits of the ladies bank account and asked for the rest as confirmation. They also asked for a secure word. Trading Standards suspect this to be a scam and do not recommend trading with anyone in this way and would ask all friends and family to warn anyone they know of to be wary of calls like this.
