Beware: Dodgy Phone Scam Targets Isle of Wight Residents

The Isle of Wight Council’s trading standards team has issued a stark warning to locals. Scam artists posing as a company called 247 Assist are contacting vulnerable residents, claiming they want to switch their care line system over.

Scammers Know Your Bank Details – Stay Alert!

In one shocking case, the caller already knew the first four digits of a woman’s bank account. They then asked for the remaining numbers and even requested a secure word as “confirmation.”

Trading Standards Sound the Alarm

The council believes this is a classic scam and urges everyone not to engage with calls like this. Friends and family should be on high alert and warn others to avoid handing over any bank details or personal info.

Stay safe – don’t fall for the 247 Assist scam.
