Man arrested and woman left fighting for her life after Chingford Collision

Detectives are appealing for information after a woman was critically injured in a collision in Chingford. Police were called at 03:00hrs on Monday, 7 May, to a collision in Station Road, E4. Officers attended the location and established that a car had been in collision with a female pedestrian. The woman has been taken to hospital by LAS. Her condition is critical. Enquiries are underway to establish her identity. The driver of the car – a Ford Focus – stopped at the scene. The 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He has been taken into custody at an east London police station.
