Four-Year-Old Boy Fatally Stabbed in Hackney Home

East London is in shock after a four-year-old boy was found stabbed to death in a terraced house on Montague Road, Hackney. The Metropolitan Police were called to the scene late Wednesday night following reports of the tragic attack. Neighbours told officers they heard chilling screams as they arrived.

Woman Arrested as Police Launch Murder Probe

The young victim, whose identity remains private, was rushed to hospital but sadly died from his injuries. A 41-year-old woman, known to the boy but not named, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder and is now in custody. Homicide detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command have taken charge of the investigation. Police say no other suspects are being sought.

Community Left Devastated

A nearby neighbour, a mum of three who knew the boy since birth, described him as a “kind child” often seen playing outside. She revealed even the attending police were visibly shaken by the horrific event.

Hackney’s Mayor, Caroline Woodley, voiced her heartbreak and extended her condolences to the family. The council is cooperating closely with police and the child’s school to offer full support during this devastating time.

Police Boost Patrols to Reassure Locals

Detective Chief Superintendent James Conway, leading the police response for Hackney and Tower Hamlets, acknowledged the immense distress the killing has caused locally. He confirmed specialist officers are working tirelessly to piece together exactly what happened.

Extra police patrols will be stepping up in the area to reassure the community as the investigation continues.
