Coastguard Rush to Rescue After Tourist Falls on West Wight Rocks

Two Isle of Wight Coastguard teams from The Needles and Ventnor sprang into action this Saturday afternoon. They responded to a 999 emergency call shortly after 2.30pm.

Injury at Popular Compton Spot

A visitor took a tumble on the jagged rocks at Compton, West Wight, dislocating their shoulder. The picturesque tourist hotspot turned into a scene of urgent rescue.

Quick First Aid, Then Hospital

Coastguard crews administered first aid on the spot. The injured party was then able to travel independently to St Mary’s Hospital in Newport for further treatment.
