Coastguard teams called to Compton Beach
Two of the Islands Coastguard teams from The Needles and Ventnor were mobilised to Compton in the West Wight this afternoon (Saturday) after a person fell and injured themselves.
The 999 call for help came in at just after 2.30pm as a result of the casualty falling on rocks and dislocating their shoulder at the popular tourist hotspot.
First aid was given by members of the coastguard team to the injured individual, who subsequently made their own way to St Mary’s Hospital in Newport for further treatment.
