Skegness Man Guilty of Fatal Stabbing After Knife Attack

Paul Bodell, 37, from Grosvenor Road, Skegness, has been found guilty of fatally stabbing Paul Barnett, 46, following a tense 13-day trial. Bodell remains in custody and awaits sentencing.

One Stab Wound Ends Man’s Life on Skegness Street

The tragic incident unfolded on Grosvenor Road at around 10.15pm on 22nd September 2020. Paul Barnett suffered a single stab wound to his chest during an altercation with Bodell. Despite desperate efforts from bystanders and East Midlands Ambulance Service paramedics, Barnett was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detective Slams Knife Crime: ‘Senseless Violence Devastates Families’

“This was a brutal attack with an unwarranted level of violence and a man’s family have been left devastated by this senseless incident,” said Detective Chief Inspector Richard Myszczyszyn of the East Midlands Special Operations Unit.

“Had Bodell left the knife at home, the outcome would have been very different. This case highlights the real dangers of carrying knives in public.”

Police Call for Community Help to Tackle Knife Crime

Lincolnshire Police continue their fight against weapons crime through Operation Raptor, which has made over 300 arrests since October 2019. Officers urge the public to report anyone suspected of carrying weapons or making threats.
