Man Left Fighting for His Life After Hit-and-Run Outside Barking Pub
Hit-and-Run Horror at 4am
Police scrambled to Ripple Road in Barking at 4am on Sunday, 22 August, after a 46-year-old man was found badly injured outside a local pub. London Ambulance Service alerted officers to the scene where the victim was discovered with a serious leg injury.
Driver Flees, Victim Battles for Recovery
Detectives believe the man was deliberately struck by a car, which then raced off, leaving him in a critical condition. The victim remains in hospital undergoing treatment for his extensive injuries.
Suspect Arrested but Still Under Investigation
A 39-year-old man was arrested the following day in connection with the incident. He has since been released on investigation as police continue to dig for answers.
Police Plea for Witnesses
Detective Constable Chris Hunt from East Area CID said: “This incident has left a man with a significant injury and one which will take a long time for him to recover from.
A number of people have come forward with information but we believe there were others in the area at the time of the collision who may be able to provide some key details.”
“If you were in Ripple Road between 3.45am and 4am on Sunday please think about whether you saw anything and come forward to police.”
