Terrifying Burglary in Swanscombe: Elderly Woman Held Down and Robbed

At around 12.20pm on Friday 17 September 2021, a shocking burglary unfolded at a home on Manor Road, Swanscombe. A woman in her 70s was followed inside her property after two men knocked on her door.

One of the suspects reportedly pinned the elderly victim down, while the other ransacked the house. The pair then made off with a handbag containing cash, a bank card, and other valuables.

Suspects Arrested and Charged

Police quickly arrested Amos Beaney, 30, from Bow Road, Wateringbury, and William Dennard, 54, from Darenth Wood Road, Dartford. Both men were charged with burglary with violence and appeared at Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court on 1 October 2021. They were remanded in custody and are due back at Maidstone Crown Court on Friday 29 October.

Third Man Also in Custody

Amos Vincent, 38, of Teal Avenue, St Mary Cray, was also charged with burglary with violence. He appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on 12 October and was remanded in custody. Vincent will face Maidstone Crown Court on 28 October.

The community remains shaken by this violent home invasion targeting a vulnerable senior. Police continue their investigation and urge anyone with information to come forward.
