Driver Flees Scene After Brutal Attack
Police rushed to Mortimer Street at around 4.45pm yesterday (04/03) following a violent collision. The driver didn’t stick around—he fled immediately after the smash.
Suspect Nabbed Overnight in Bath
After intense investigations, officers arrested a 33-year-old man in Bath overnight. He’s now locked up at Melksham Police Station, accused of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
Victim Battles Serious Injuries
The injured man, also in his 30s and believed to know the suspect, suffered a suspected fractured shoulder and facial injuries. He’s receiving treatment at Bristol Royal Infirmary.
Police Seek Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
Mortimer Street was shut down during the probe but reopened early this morning. Detective Sergeant Martin Emery urged anyone who witnessed the attack or has dashcam footage to come forward.
“We know that there were a number of witnesses to this incident due to the fact that it happened on a busy street during the early evening,” said DS Emery. “If you saw something, or if you have dashcam footage which could assist our enquiries, then please get in touch.”
