Drugs Kingpin Busted Running Surrey’s ‘Best’ Supply Network from Bedroom
Khalid Chowdhury, 22, of Worplesdon Road, Guildford, copped a guilty plea at Guildford Crown Court for multiple drug offences. The Surrey Police had zeroed in on him as the mastermind behind a major drugs racket supplying cannabis and cocaine to vulnerable users across Surrey.
Police Raid Uncovers Cash, Cannabis, and Phones
On January 25, officers swooped on Chowdhury’s family home in Guildford. They found three mobile phones, £5,755 in cash, bags of cannabis, and weighing scales – a textbook set-up for drug dealing.
Chowdhury’s Own Messages Seal His Fate
Police analysis of the seized phones revealed Chowdhury bragging about selling the “best drugs in Surrey” through multiple texts. He was charged with possession and supply of Class A and B drugs, plus handling criminal property.
Judge Orders Cash to Surrey Community Foundation
Court heard Chowdhury’s own drug use sparked his descent into criminality. Besides a prison sentence, the judge decreed the seized cash be handed over to the Surrey Community Foundation to help combat drug-related crime.
Investigating officer PC David Oliver said: “Our officers work tirelessly to identify and shut down active drug lines. Chowdhury was operating from his bedroom, targeting vulnerable users in Guildford. We rely on the public to help us tackle drug crime, so if you suspect drug dealing, please get in touch.”
