Hate Crime Assault on Spen Valley Greenway Sparks Police Appeal

Kirklees CID is hunting witnesses after a shocking assault on the Spen Valley Greenway near Kwik Fit and Asda. The attack happened between 7pm and 8pm on Wednesday, April 6.

Victim Targeted and Assaulted by Two Men

Police say two males confronted a lone man walking along the Greenway. They hurled verbal abuse before physically attacking him. The victim suffered minor injuries but was left deeply shaken.

The incident has been recorded as a hate crime due to offensive comments made by the suspects.

Suspects Described: Distinctive Looks and Clothing

  • Suspect One: Black male, around 6ft tall, slim build, shaved head and moustache. He wore a dark blue hoodie, black joggers, white trainers, and had a stretcher in one ear.
  • Suspect Two: Asian male, roughly 6ft tall, slim with shaved head and stubble. He wore blue jeans and a dark top.

Two people on push bikes reportedly approached the scene, prompting the suspects to flee.

Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward
